That’s right, some of you have been finding new music with Hype Machine for 10 years. Thanks for listening, and for being so curious.
I also can’t thank enough the people who have built Hype Machine with me over the past ten years–their creativity, commitment and patience are outstanding.
There is a lot to say about this much time but one thing stands out: there has never been a better time to be a music listener, and yet it is still difficult to playfully connect with new things. Finding what to listen to is as hard as ever, and that means we need to get back to work.
Stay tuned.
PS. In the meantime, enjoy the Norton Commander CGA color remix of the site.

Been with you guys for about 5 years, accumulating 2,500+ favorites. Thank you for introducing me to so much.
You guys are the best! Thanks for always replying to my emails and even sending me some swag one time! The envelope it came in was even really cool!
How do I turn off the lovely but useless blue look?
The look would be vastly improved by having the functionality of the previous layout. What’s up with the missing info? Like the links to the blogs? When the song was posted?
Happy Birthday Hypem!!! <3 I will always love you!
Поздравляю
<3 you guys.

I have to say that this community has introduce more music into my life than any other on the web since Napster. It’s put me at shows around the world and found me readers and subscribers who’ve become friends.
Happy Birthday from San Francisco, HypeM.

Happy birthday Hype Machine! I’ve been an avid user since high school and you’ve never failed to deliver great music ever since. Thanks!
This has been my go-to daily music site since 2009!
Love the simplicity and fresh new music each week!
Norton Commander is one remix I can actually get behind. Thanks for seven years.. missed the first three or something.
Thank you hypemachine for opening up my music world! I first heard about you guys my sophomore year in high school on “around the web” back when olivia munn was doing her thing on Attack of the Show. Pretty much every new song or artist i’ve found from 2009 until today has come from this website. So much support and thanks to the creators because this is the bee’s knees. Good going guys keep up the awesome work.
Happy birthday Hype ! And I wish you many years to go on further.

Thanks and happy birthday!!
Congrats guys! And I love the layout 😀 Please keep it as an option for all eternity ^^ Kthxbai
I’m hoping you guys read all these…
I just want to say I’ve been using HypeMachine for about 5+ years (I’m 20 years old), and this website kicks ass. Love being ahead of the game in finding new music, and you’ve done a great job of permitting tailored music selection with all the nifty extensions.
One thing I would like is just a general break-down of most popular songs by year. Rather than the zeitgeist, you should just have a list of 100+ most liked songs. With the weekly updates, sometimes a good song will fly right by me.
Alright, bye. This is like my first comment on any general website besides Facebook.
Thanks everyone <3
Thanks for everything, guys! In HypeMachine I trust.
Happy b-day HM! Thanks for everything!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Thanks for everything, hypem = by far the best way to find new music on the web!!
Awesome service, awesome theme today!
Thank you for awesome service Hypem. I have been using for a long time and I can’t get enough of using. You’re doing great job to find me best customised music for my taste.
Congrats and Happy Birthday!
Love you, Hypem, but can we toggle off the layout? Too blue
x
I was thinking why you had -32768 as how old you are. I though it maybe had to do with the int range. Are you using 2’s complement ? I don’t see how its 10 though.
THIS IS SOOOO RAD!!!! I would’ve never found such good sounds without HYPEM!!! Looking forward to the next 10 years!!!!
Please let me use the regular theme again. The current look is awful.
Happy Birthday from Scotland! Been using the hype machine for the past 9 years and it’s still by far the best way to discover new music!
WooooooW! The best music website 😉 ♥♥♥♥
Feliz cumpleaños!! (Happy bday) From Venezuela & Mexico w love!
Been w u since 2009 and u r my fav music site since then!
I did even create a widget in my widget to direct my clients to my account w u.
Even Though it would be more cool if u have one made by yourself to make it official and let everybody promote your site using that widget!
All the best to come!

Happy birthday from New Delhi. Lots of love. Thanks for being. 🙂
Definitely the best music site. Definitely the worst decision to change the layout. Yikes.
This background is worse than that caused pockemon chapter of seizures in the 90’s
Thank you soooo much for the best page on the internet. Please machine-gods add a option to keep this skin!!
10 years?!?! I just found out about this beautiful site and you app this year! I love and thank you for bringing so much great music together. HYPE ON!
10 years?!?! I just found out about this beautiful site and your app this year! I love it and thank you for bringing so much great music together. HYPE ON!
Respect and appreciation to the entire Hype Machine team for everything you guys have done these past 10 years!! Nothing saves me more time, or is a greater resource to me in all those moments when I want bust out some great music. However, I agree with the many others above..
The blue 8 bit thing is cool when I’m just playing music casually, but when its time for serious listening, it really takes away from the functionality of the clean, easy to read design. I miss the “heard on…” and several other features that displayed useful information.
I’m assuming its a temporary change, but even so, WTB an option to swap between them. I think most of your more serious listeners would agree!
Thanks again for all you do!
Thank you for those 10 years of music.
Happy 10th Birthday Hype Machine! Thanks for the music!
Tyler, we’ll revert to the standard layout soon, but it has been fun 🙂
Happy Birthday!:) Where is the cake?
I really loved that css layout of NOrton!!
Great idea!
Happpy Birthday!! I can`t thank you enough!
I don’t know what I’d do without you!
Please, oh lord, please disable the new design!
Can we please get the old CSS back. This is painful to look at.
I think it’s time to go back…my eyes are bleeding…
I’d be lost without you
THANK YOU! 5 years on this site and counting. couldn’t be here without you all.
Best site ever!
When do we get back the standard layout? This one REALLY sucks and stops me from visiting your site..
Congrats!!!!!!! Success.
I think it’s been long enough now …
And Going Strong!!!!!!!!
I discovered so much great music here, thanks guys !
Thank you, Hype Machine, for hosting such an amazing website. I’ve listened to the music on here for hundred of hours, if not thousands, over the past ten years, and it’s been an absolute pleasure. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thanks for making me think I was a little bit cooler than my school friends and exposing the best music ever for the last five years <3
Hype Machine changed my life. Opened the world of EDM and remixes to me. Thanks for adding the Remixes Only filter years ago. You listened to my request. You make my life a happy place.
Ive had hypem since 2009 and I must thank my brother for showing me this site back then.
And I must thank YOU guys even more for creating such an amazing website.
Fuck.. This shit changed my life. Music IS my life, and with this amazing tool I can dive in the world of music even better…
I <3 You, Hype Machine!!!
Thanks for producing and maintaining this website. (+Props for the old school interface ^^)
During the last ~10 years several editorial powered aggregators popped up just to lose relevance 1-4 years later (at least for me)…
… but… I still use Hype Machine once or twice a week when I’m in the mood to discover something new or sit together with friends that also enjoy the random-zeigeist like approach of music aggregation.
I said thx once by ordering the Hypem.com shirt.
Have you some donation/merch like thing planned for this anniversary?
A post about the business model behind Hype Machine would be great too. Is everything paid by those referral links @ Amazon or is there another path working?
Anyway… I wish you all the best. Hopefully the site will be around for the next 10 years!
Hype Machine has taught me one thing.
Don’t Believe The Hype.
Seriously, I wish there was better curation or filtering of what makes it up here.
Hi, congratz on the10 years!
can we please revert to the old layout?
This one is so painful; i’ve stopped using hypem for the last week
Keep it simple and keep your listeners!
Love Hype <3 and the Uberhype App
Ever thought about adding a separate search bar on the user's favorites page? I know it would be a great help to myself?
Thank you for doing such a great job! I love visiting your website and staying tuned what is acutally going on!
greetings from the heart of europe
<3 hype machine <3
thank you thank you thank you for all of your efforts keeping fresh music alive, happy 10 year birthday from queens
Hype machine has been my go to for years now…congrats on 10 years…Is there going to be a possibility to keep this layout??
You should give us the option to keep the Norton Commander look.
You guys provide a fantastic service. Thank you for doing it!
Thanks, everyone!
Site is back to normal, but we may launch the NC skin at a later date!
