Armin Schmidt of Aupeo is our final winner of the CMJ badge giveaway! Congrats!
In other news, I just got an iPhone last weekend. I know I’m behind times but it’s pretty freakin’ cool. What are your favorite iPhone music apps and what do you like about them? We’re thinking about putting together a Hype Machine app as an early Christmas present 🙂
I’m also obsessed with Photoswap, the app that lets you exchange photos with strangers. I was swapping with people in Japan and Amsterdam last night!

i think a HYPE MACHINE iPhone native app would be the best! fully behind it!!!!
great job keeping the interest after a few years too ^^
My fav’s:
CityTransit
Pandora
Last.fm
Where
Twitterific
Remote
last.fm is the only music app, other than itunes i use on the iphone.
would be great to see this under the iphone app tree, even for .99c 🙂
iPhone app would rock!
I actually develop applications for the iPhone so give me a shout if you need help or maybe even develop the entire app 🙂
Anders from Sweden (we met when u guys were in Stockholm a few weeks ago 😉
Absolutely – I use your site with the iPhone currently and, although it works, it could be better with an iPhone friendly layout. Think about the possibilities; an app is one thing, but you’ll have to leap through Apple’s hoops, whereas, an iPhone friendly site will get you going right away. Something to think about…
I agree with Carey, but if you could somehow stream the music, that would make the experience on my iphone all the better.
Please release an official iPhone app, I will pay in pencil lead and hallmark cards
Okay thanks
Ok and I’ll umm.. Take pictures of pretty people to advertise it? =)
iPhone app (for free) pleaseeee!
Also, for music,
Pandora
Last.fm
SimplifyMedia (stream your entire iTunes library to your phone from anywhere)
Please make a hypem iphone gateway prog. so clean.
Pandora rocks! and an iphone app would be super cool, esp. one that streamed 🙂
an iPhone app would be totally amazing
my favorite apps (these are all free):
– Balance: a no frills balance sheet. Nice feature includes a password protected.
– Aim: if you don’t use aim, there are some alternatives
– Twitteriffic: This is useful when you’re waiting for something.
– Pocketpedia: Add stuff you own via amazon. If it doesn’t exist on amazon, then you’re out of luck. It’s useful if you have a lot of CDs or DVDs or you have a wishlist but can’t quite remember that catchy manufacturer’s names like CameraCDLSLD56464.4x
– FuzzleLite: This game is pretty fun, I can’t see a reason to upgrade as I suck at the free version anyway.
– Motion Dice: If you need a virtual dice
– i Say Free: Addictive Simon Says game, I can’t get pass the 12th level.
– Google Earth
last.fm iphone app sucks.. i’ve been waiting for a hypem one for so long!!
that would be fantastic.
If you guys could throw together an iPhone app, my life would be complete.
‘Nuff said.
To buy any and all records, cd’s, and some mp3 check it out. They have an amazing return policy.
An iPhone app would be awesome! Any timetable on this idea?
I use Pandora all the time. Especially in the car. If Hype put out an iPhone app. My life would be complete. Listening to the populars and randoms would be the best car ride out there. Do it!
Dear Santa,
Please may I have 1 x Hype Machine iPhone app, please.
Yours Sincerely,
Al
PLEASE make an iPhone app, that’d be SWEET. I LOVE listening to the hype macine radio on my computer, and would like it even more on my Phone
I haven’t tried it, but you might be able to get hypemachine radio working on an iphone by using the m3u link on the radio page
YEAH! Another completed life here. Last and Pandora both have a pretty good UI, but Hype would need some different features. Key things to include in my book: an interface with album art at the center in the Now Playing view- follow Pandora and Last in imitating the way music looks on the iPhone itself. On the now playing screen are playback controls. Flip that screen over to see your search results. And be able to love trax. That’s about all I could want!
I search for “hype machine iPhone app” like once a week. We need it soooooo bad. OMG I would be so excited. Please make it happen!!!
Please – don’t forget to develop the Hype Machine app. Pleeeeeaaaasssseeeee.
Do it.
Do it.
DO IT.
A hypem app for iPhone would actually sell me the device
Pls pls pls iPhone hype machine app
I would pay for a hype machine app that let me listen to blogs. as much as $5.
one other point
would apple allow this app on?
if you can play pretty much whatever music you want off of it, then that itunes is going to get a lot less fingerpresses
Yeah! we want a hypem iphone app.
For music I use:
Orb Live for stream music from my pc
last.fm and deezer a few times (for related music)
But hypem app would be killer!!!
I think Apple could allow that, I can’t watch the problem. If not, release throught cydia / installer 🙂
Would love to see an iPhone App! It’s well past christmas.. come’on guys! 😉
Thanks so much for the awesome service.
Rob
I know that this was a while ago, but I just stumbled upon this and was wondering if there had been any progress, because I still really want a hypemachine iphone app.
I’d love (and pay for) a hype machine iPhone app, and I know lots of my friends would too! Please let us know if this is being developed…
Just to add to the pile… a Hypemachine app would be awesome. Pandora and Last.FM are pretty cool, but they’re getting a little old. So it’d be sweet to have something else to listen to while riding the bus.
Found this part of the site doing a Google search for an iPhone Hypemachine app.
How much would you pay for a hypem app?
searched for an hypemachine app on google. came here.
so desperately bagging for one is all i can do for now.
Seriously, I would pay $10 for this app. Hell, I will write it for you if you need a developer…
Add me to the long list of people waiting for a Hype Machine iPhone app. Just release a single paid version and it’ll be a hit & additional revenue stream. So frustrating not to be able to use even the standard site…
I agree with everybody else – we need a Hypem iPhone app – and I would be willing to pay for it!
If I could stream from Hypem over 3G I would properly use it as much as the iPod part of the phone.
download ‘wunder radio app’
then search for ‘hypem radio’
it streams pretty darn well on 3g
ITS THE CLOSEST THING UNTILL CHRISTMAS PRESENT APP:)
cheers
umm.. wunder radio app? its a scam.
http://www.wunderradio.com/stations.php?query=hypem
Thank god I didn’t pay 7 dollars for this.
Is it Christmas yet? HypeM app would be epic, especially if executed well. Would def drop $.
I would def drop $$ on a hypem app
An iphone app would be great, but please make one for blackberry too! I have been waiting and would definitely pay for that app.
Hypem app. WOULD ROCK MY SOCKS!!!!
An Iphone app would be legit, I’ve been hoping you guys would put one together. Something like that can really put Hypem Machine in the mainstream…
Ahhhhh man. Got here in exactly the same way as everyone else on here, this thread is pretty old already but I have only had my IPhone a few days and already missing hypemachine.. I say, I give a tha monies.
please create an iphone application
My work just banned hypem. I need an iPhone hypem app to feed my addiction
I hope this is coming soon! Thanks for your hard work.
DUDES….please just make one already
I think we’d need a HypeM API (preferably REST API) before an app could be made.
I think about a hypem mobile app at least once a day.
PLEASE MAKE A HYPEM APP — WOULD BE EPIC
@Kyle, me too. android native.
Boo. Hiss, Hypem! You got our hopes up almost 2 years ago and not a peep since. The only way you can make this up to us is with an APP! Be a leader, already!
I’d really love to see an Android app. I’m sure it will be easier than an iPhone app.
Hype machine please an app!!! can’t wait!!!!
Please make an iphone app–I’d love to be able to do this on the go.
If enough people demand an iPhone app, can we expect to see one soon?? If yes, then count this comment’s worth for 10,000 people
I literally check the app store every other day for a hype machine app. I would pay for this, seriously.
Pllllllleeeeeeeaaaaaaaseeeeeeeee!!
please please pleassseeee make the iphone app already!!! pandora and last.fm are no comparison to hypem and im tired of listening to old songs over and over again. i neeeeeed these beats!!! :]
yesssss! Hurry up!
Original msg: “as an early Christmas present”
Yes please, an iPhone app would be a great Christmas present. I see you didn’t originally mean 2008 so lets hope for Xmas 2010!!
Which christmas did you mean cos another one has just passed! I’d like to add my vote for a hype machine iphone app! I love hype machine and an iphone app would be just wicked.
Vote for Android app here!
Could you give us an update on the App? I’m sure it would be a big hit. And I reckon people wont care if it hasnt got the widest of functionalities. I only need my “shufflefunction” and my “loves”. Everything else is a bonus! Love to hear from you
an android app as well please.
