Can you guys make a feature to search new music by Genre. that would kick ass

I’ve discovered so much good stuff here, I can’t even begin to count it all up. Plus, I subscribe to the blogs whose music tastes I live (Scissor Kick, The Yellow Stereo, etc.)
I don’t have friends, hype machinists. Only lovers. With three legs.
I second the whole searching my genre idea. But Hype is awesome the way it is, keep it up!

Hype Machine don’t post any music, it’s basically a search engine for all the music/mp3 blogs out there. It’s up to the blog owner to register their site.
Now, you can save that quarter and buy yourself something pretty.

I like Hype Machine a lot, but find it frustrating at the same time.
It seems to be either extremely specific- i.e. search for a specific artist and get songs only by it, or else totally random and completely dependent on what’s on the home page or any given blog.
I like random a lot. Last.fm, Pandora and the other discovery sites seldom play anything new for me. I just wish there was a way to moderate it a little.

I think it would be cool if you could play the music through an external media player.(Winamp, realplayer, etc.)
More emphasis on the search spy might help Jay, I guess what we really want is a last.fm that knows about all the good music Hype knows.
Sorting by genre would be cool, but what I like about Hype is that I can find new genre’s, and songs which defy genre.

You can kinda play it through an external player if you use Mozilla’s Songbird…cheating in a way because it’s basically still like just viewing the web page. Or you can make a web app out of the pop up player and use that.

Michael, I think the mp3 podcast was taken down in favor of the radio stream, which is too bad, since i bet 90% of their users prefer the itunes-integrated and compartmentalized podcast. oh well! death of hype machine, maybe?
i thought it was my itunes 7.7 upgrade, but i noticed that the older version on my laptop also shows no new posts. many of the tracked blogs have new posts, and they seem to be in the radio stream, just not on the podcast…
